A nourishing plant oil. Safe.
Ginseng seed oil (INCI: Panax Ginseng Seed Oil) is a plant oil rich in unsaturated fatty acids and minor compounds with antioxidant activity. In a formula it works as an emollient that nourishes, softens and helps hold the skin barrier by cutting water loss. As an active it is mainly a good care lipid. It gives comfort and barrier support, handy for dry or tight skin, but it is not a targeted treatment against wrinkles or spots. Its antioxidant effect is supporting, not the lead. Topically there is no meaningful systemic passage, so the oil can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy potential. Comedogenicity is medium-low (2 of 5), so oily or acne-prone skin should introduce it with some caution, though most people tolerate it without trouble.
