BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
An antioxidant plant extract. Safe.
Ginseng extract (INCI: Panax Ginseng Extract) comes from the plant root and brings ginsenosides, polysaccharides and polyphenols with antioxidant activity. In a formula it acts as a supporting additive that aids defense against oxidative stress and gives a feel of firmer, more toned skin. On efficacy it deserves a measured read. There is experimental data on ginsenosides as antioxidants and microcirculation stimulants, but solid topical clinical evidence is moderate. It is a supporting active within a good routine, not the engine of an anti-aging result on its own. Applied to skin it has no meaningful systemic absorption, so the extract can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy potential. It suits sensitive skin and rarely causes a reaction.
