A passion fruit seed oil. It softens and nourishes skin and absorbs easily. Well tolerated.
Topical application
BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
A nourishing plant oil. Safe.
Passion fruit seed oil (INCI: Passiflora Edulis Seed Oil) is a light plant oil with a high linoleic acid content. In formulas it acts as an emollient: it softens, nourishes and absorbs quickly, leaving a non-greasy finish. Its efficacy is that of a functional support ingredient. The linoleic-rich profile suits oil-prone skin, which often has less linoleate in its sebum. Even so, it is not a targeted active: it brings comfort and a pleasant finish, without promises of deep change. Topically, passage into the bloodstream is negligible, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is well tolerated, with low irritation and allergy potential. Comedogenicity is low (1 of 5), so it is usually comfortable even on combination skin. On very acne-prone skin it makes sense to watch the individual response.
