A nourishing plant oil. Safe.
Balanites Roxburghii Seed Oil (INCI: Balanites Roxburghii Seed Oil) is a plant oil pressed from the seeds of this tree. Rich in fatty acids, it nourishes and softens the skin and provides an emollient layer that supports the barrier. It is used in creams, body oils and balms. On efficacy it is a functional emollient. It improves comfort, flexibility and the look of dry skin, but it is not an active aimed at wrinkles or pigmentation. Its contribution stays in nourishment and texture, which is already useful for dry or tight skin. For topical use it has no systemic relevance and can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation potential and low allergy risk. Its comedogenicity is moderate (2 out of 5), so oily or acne-prone skin should watch how it behaves within the finished product.
