A soothing plant extract. Safe.
Passionflower extract (INCI Passiflora Incarnata Extract) comes from the passion flower and brings flavonoids. In formulas it is aimed at a soothing effect and support for surface hydration, common in products for sensitive or stressed skin. On efficacy this is a supporting extract. Its flavonoids back a soothing and faint antioxidant note, but the clinical evidence base is limited and does not make it a corrective active with proven results. Its role is auxiliary within the formula. Topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is high: low irritation and allergy potential, suitable for reactive skin. No worrying comedogenic profile.
