Kalanchoe Spathulata Extract (INCI Kalanchoe Spathulata Extract) is a leaf extract of a succulent rich in mucilage, organic acids and flavonoids. In a formula it works as a softening and moisturising botanical, and it gives a light soothing feel on irritated skin. The efficacy view is balanced. Kalanchoe sap has long been used in folk practice, but in cosmetics we are talking about a mild supporting action: hydration and comfort. This is a supporting botanical ingredient, not a proven therapeutic active, and serious independent clinical data on it are scarce. As a pleasant addition to a soothing formula it has its place.
