Hazelnut seed oil is pressed from the seeds of Corylus avellana. INCI: Corylus Avellana (Hazelnut) Seed Oil. It is a light plant oil, rich in oleic acid, with fast absorption and a light astringent feel. In a formula it works as an emollient: it softens skin, reduces water loss, and leaves no heavy film. Its light texture suits normal and combination skin. Its standalone clinical effect is modest; the main role is emollient. Allergenicity. This is a nut oil, and with a confirmed nut allergy it is treated with caution, although refined cosmetic grades contain little allergenic protein. Pregnancy safety: topically systemically negligible. Tolerance. Irritation potential is low.
