Walnut seed oil is pressed from the seeds of Juglans regia. INCI: Juglans Regia (Walnut) Seed Oil. It is a plant oil rich in linoleic and linolenic acids and vitamin E. In a formula it works as an emollient and barrier-support component: it softens skin, reduces water loss, and gives a nourished feel. The linoleic part is related to barrier lipids, so the oil makes sense for dry skin. Its standalone clinical effect is modest. Allergenicity. This is a nut oil, and with a confirmed nut allergy it is treated with caution, although refined grades contain little allergenic protein. Pregnancy safety: topically systemically negligible. Tolerance. Irritation potential is low.
