Silanetriol (INCI: Silanetriol) is a soluble form of organic silicon added to the water phase of serums and creams. It is associated with a humectant action and a supporting role in firmness, linked to silicon as an element present in connective tissue. As an active it is a supporting component. Organic silicon shows up in formulas promising elasticity, but clinical evidence for visible topical results is limited. It can add hydration, while you should not expect a marked firming effect from it alone. Applied topically it has no meaningful systemic absorption, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy risk, suitable for sensitive skin. It is not meaningfully comedogenic, which makes it comfortable on oily skin too.
