Myrtrimonium bromide (INCI: Myrtrimonium Bromide) is a cationic conditioning ingredient. In formulas it binds to the surface and leaves the skin feeling smoother, giving the product texture a soft finish. This is a functional ingredient. Its job is to condition and improve feel, not to act as a skincare active; the effect is sensory. At cosmetic doses it fills this role without claiming more. Topically there is no meaningful systemic exposure, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. At cosmetic levels tolerance is good: irritation and allergy risk are low. As is generally the case with cationics, it is best kept to the usual levels of finished formulas, where it behaves well.
