Polyester-8 is a film-forming polymer of the polyester type. In a formula it builds a smooth, matte coating that helps fix pigments and improves how long the product lasts on the skin. It appears mostly in makeup, foundations and formulas with an even, long-wear finish. This is a functional ingredient, not a treatment active. Its work is to structure the film and control the finish, not to give the skin biological benefit. It does that within its technical role well, but do not expect deep hydration or anti-aging action. With topical use it has no systemic relevance, so you can use it during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: irritation and allergy potential are both low, and it suits sensitive skin. Since it forms a film, a proper cleanse at the end of the day helps remove the product fully and avoid buildup.
