In cosmetics it acts as a filler and texture agent: it gives smooth slip, a matte finish and helps hold pigments in place. It is common in powders, foundations, eyeshadows and pressed makeup. Its role is functional, not treatment. It improves how the product spreads and feels on application, but it is not an active that cares for the skin. Do not expect any effect on wrinkles, pigmentation or hydration. For topical use there is no meaningful systemic absorption, and it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: low irritation potential and low allergy risk, which makes it suitable for sensitive skin. Since it is a mineral powder, reactive skin should cleanse well at the end of the day to avoid buildup.
