Rose Ketones are a group of scent compounds (damascones and damascenones) with a rich rosy-fruity aroma. INCI: Rose Ketones. In a formula they are used as a fragrance. They are aroma components, not skincare actives. They have no action on skin and are added for scent at very low concentrations. Allergenicity. Rose ketones are well-known potential fragrance contact allergens, and their level is limited by SCCS recommendations and IFRA standards. Contact allergy is possible in sensitized people; most do not react. Pregnancy safety. At cosmetic concentrations systemic absorption is low and there is no evidence of harm with topical use.
