Its job is to bind the water and oil phases and to add an emollient touch to the formula. This is a functional component, not a skincare active. It works as an emulsifier and texture stabilizer: it keeps the blend uniform and leaves a soft feel on the skin. It handles its task without trouble, but no treatment benefits should be assigned to it. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without concern. Tolerance is good, with low irritation potential and low allergy risk. It suits sensitive skin. It is not drying; on the contrary, its oily part helps the skin feel softer.
