Associative polymer thickener for O/W emulsions. Builds a flexible network of microclusters, giving creams body and a cushiony texture without stickiness.
Topical application
CWeak evidence. In vitro data, open-label studies, or expert consensus.
High-molecular-weight polymer without stratum corneum penetration. Safety profile is high per CIR data.
Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer is a synthetic associative polymer thickener with hydrophilic methacrylate blocks alternating with hydrophobic beheneth-25 (ethoxylated behenyl alcohol) chains. Mechanism. In the aqueous phase, hydrophobic chains gather into microclusters and build a flexible polymer network. The network thickens cream consistency and stabilises emulsion oil droplets, preventing coalescence. The structure breaks under shear (spreading on skin) and re-forms at rest – the formula gains a pleasant 'cream-mousse' texture, not sticky or heavy. Where applied. Modern O/W creams and serums that need a light airy feel (0.1–2%). In Spain it is in La Roche-Posay Toleriane Sensitive, CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion, Avène Sérénage. Safety. The high molecular weight polymer does not penetrate the epidermis, so no systemic action. CIR in 2018 considered copolymers of this type safe at cosmetic concentrations. Irritation and allergy are extremely rare. Pregnancy and lactation – safe. Used without restriction. Functional role. A formula aid, not a cosmetic active. No standalone skin benefit – it helps the formulator and improves end-product sensorics.

The Evigrade extension adds an evidence panel to Wildberries, Goldapple, Letu, iHerb, Sephora and 12 more stores. This ingredient and every other one in the product show evidence-tier, allergen risk and pregnancy/lactation flags at a glance.
Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer is considered safe during pregnancy at typical cosmetic concentrations. Systemic absorption through the skin is minimal.
