In a formula it thickens, structures the oil phase and helps keep oils and silicones stable, adding body to sticks, balms and rich creams. This is a functional ingredient, not a skincare active. Its job is the product's consistency and stability; it does not change wrinkles, tone or acne. On the label read it as a technical structural element. Applied topically it has no systemic significance, so it can be used in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good. Irritation and allergy potential are low and it suits sensitive skin. As a large inert polymer it does not penetrate and rarely causes reactions.
