Ceteareth-6 is a nonionic emulsifier, listed in INCI under the same name. In a formula it joins oil and water and keeps the cream uniform. It usually works alongside other emulsifiers to build a stable emulsion. It shows up in creams and lotions. This is a functional formulation component, not a skincare active. It gives the product structure and stability, but it does not work on wrinkles or pigmentation on its own. It performs that technical role effectively. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good; it is a mild surfactant with low irritation and allergy potential. At high levels and on very reactive skin it could dry a little, but at usual use levels it rarely causes problems.
