Ceteareth-6 Olivate is an emulsifier derived from olive oil combined with ethoxylated cetearyl alcohol. It joins the oil and water phases, stabilizes the emulsion, and at the same time leaves a softening feel on skin. This is a functional component, not an active. Its role is structural: it forms and keeps creams and lotions stable, with a uniform texture. The softening note is a bonus of the oil profile, not a corrective effect. It acts in the formula and at the skin surface, with no meaningful systemic absorption, so it is compatible with pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: low irritation potential and low allergy risk. As a surfactant it is mild in harshness, which lowers the risk of drying, though on very dry or sensitive skin, as with any emulsifier, it is worth watching how the whole product behaves.
