Disodium Coco-Glucoside Citrate is a plant-derived co-surfactant made from coconut sugar and citric acid. Its INCI name matches the trade one. In gels and foams it cleanses gently and, above all, softens the action of the main surfactants so the formula treats skin more kindly. This is a functional cleansing component, not a treatment active. It adds comfort during washing and improves foam, but it does not work on wrinkles or pigmentation. Its value is in making a cleanser easier to tolerate. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is one of the mildest surfactants available, so it barely dries the skin. Irritation and allergy potential are low and it suits sensitive skin. In most cases there is no reaction.
