Sucrose Dilaurate is a mild emulsifier and co-surfactant made from sugar, listed in INCI under the same name. In a formula it joins oil and water while also cleansing gently. It shows up in cleansers and emulsions designed to be kind to the skin. This is a functional component, not a skincare active. It gives stability and a pleasant texture and helps cleanse gently, but it does not work on wrinkles or pigmentation. Its value is in making well-tolerated formulas. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is one of the mildest surfactants, so it barely dries the skin. Irritation and allergy potential are low and it suits sensitive skin. In most cases there is no reaction.
