Ethyl Tosylamide (INCI same) is a film-forming resin used in nail polish. It provides shine, adhesion to the nail and wear resistance for the coating. On efficacy: this is a functional film and finish ingredient, not a skincare active. It does not treat skin. Its value is in how the polish looks and lasts, and at that it delivers. It is applied on the nail and not meaningfully absorbed through it. In the dried product it barely contacts skin. It can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is high: low irritation and allergy potential. Worth knowing: this molecule is a sulfonamide derivative, and people with a known sulfa allergy may prefer polishes without it, though the risk from contact on the nail is low. Most people have no problem.
