Glyceryl Cocoate (INCI same) is a mild co-surfactant and emollient derived from coconut. It stabilizes foam and reduces the tight feeling after cleansing, so it appears in facial and body gels, foams and syndets. On efficacy: this is a functional cleansing and texture ingredient with a slight emollient contribution, not a skincare active. It does not treat skin, but it helps the formula clean more gently. As a mildness modulator in wash bases it does its job. It is a topical, rinse-off ingredient with no meaningful systemic absorption. It can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: a mild surfactant with low irritation and allergy potential. It fits sensitive skin. Because it goes into rinse-off products, contact is brief and the drying risk is low.
