Hydroxystearic/linolenic/oleic polyglycerides (INCI: Hydroxystearic/Linolenic/Oleic Polyglycerides) are a blend of fatty acids esterified with glycerin. In a formula they work as an emollient: they fill the gaps between surface cells, soften the feel and improve how the product spreads. This is a functional emollient component, not a targeted active. It brings comfort and texture, and fatty acids like linolenic fit the skin's lipid profile well, but you should not expect it to correct wrinkles or pigmentation. Fatty acid glycerides have no meaningful systemic absorption topically, so they can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is high, with low irritation and allergy potential, which makes it suitable for sensitive skin. Comedogenicity is low (1); on very oily or acne-prone skin the margin is comfortable, though it is worth watching how each skin responds.
