In a formula it works as a light dry emollient: it gives a smooth, non-greasy slip, softens skin, and improves the spread of cream and pigments. It is a functional sensory component, not a skincare active. It appears in daytime creams, color cosmetics, and light emulsions. Pregnancy safety.
