Lactobacillus/Pumpkin Fruit Ferment Filtrate is the filtrate of pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo) extract fermented with lactobacilli. It contains organic acids (lactic, acetic), peptides, oligosaccharides and pumpkin carotenoids. Mechanism. Lactic acid provides a light humectant and surface exfoliative effect. Carotenoids (beta-carotene) act as mild antioxidants, neutralizing ROS in vitro. Where applied. K-beauty formulas – Su:m37, Skinfood Pumpkin C, a few European brands. Formula concentrations are not disclosed, typically 1–5%. Evidence base. No human RCTs; in vitro data are limited. Works as a mild humectant and a marketing-composition component – postbiotic plus fermented extract. Pregnancy and lactation – no data. Pure fermentation without teratogenic potential, but direct clinical base is also lacking.
