PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate is an ethoxylated fatty ester used as a thickener and co-emulsifier. It gives body to gels, shampoos and cleansers, improves slip and stabilizes the texture so the product does not separate. This is a functional ingredient, not a skincare active. It provides no hydration or anti-aging effect: its role is rheological, controlling the viscosity and stability of the formula. Its value shows in how the product behaves, not in any direct skin benefit. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good. The risk of irritation and allergy is low, so it suits sensitive skin. At usual cosmetic doses almost no one reacts to this ingredient.
