Polyglyceryl-6 Polyricinoleate is an emulsifier for water-in-oil (W/O) formulas. Its INCI matches the name. In a product it joins water and oil phases with oil as the outer phase, and stabilizes the emulsion so the cream holds its structure and does not separate. It is a functional component, not a skincare active. On its own it neither hydrates nor treats: its value lies in texture and formula stability. It is widely used in fluid foundations, sunscreens and rich creams, where it does its technical job well. Topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy, compatible with sensitive skin. There is no evidence of meaningful comedogenicity at usual use levels.
