Postbiotic lysate of a Saccharomyces yeast culture. Close relative of SK-II Pitera (galactomyces); claimed for skin radiance and texture.
Topical application
CWeak evidence. In vitro data, open-label studies, or expert consensus.
Some Asian brand-sponsored studies show effects on skin smoothness. Independent large clinical data are scarce.
Saccharomyces Ferment Lysate is a postbiotic product: Saccharomyces yeast culture is first fermented, then disrupted (mechanically, thermally or enzymatically) and filtered. Unlike a regular filtrate (Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate), the lysate also retains intracellular components – cell wall fragments, β-glucans, nucleotides, minerals. Where applied. Serums and creams marketed as 'postbiotic skincare' (1-10%), products for dull skin, anti-aging products, barrier-restoring formulas. Often claimed as 'improves skin microbiome'. In Spain – in niche K-beauty lines and in part of Sesderma's range. Evidence base. Yeast lysate as an ingredient class has in vitro data on collagen synthesis stimulation and anti-inflammatory activity (Gorouhi 2010 for a related lysate). Few direct RCTs specifically of Saccharomyces Ferment Lysate in human cosmetics. The marketing phrase 'microbiome improvement' has no RCT evidence support. Postbiotic controversy. 'Postbiotic' in cosmetics is a marketing term of recent years. The actual influence of dead yeast components on the composition of the living skin microbiome is poorly studied. An effect on hydration, softness and skin tone is likely; on the 'right' microflora – unconfirmed. Safety. EU CosIng permits use. CIR has not issued a standalone review, but use experience is broad. Hypoallergenic in most cases. People with yeast allergy – use with caution. Pregnancy and lactation – safe. Postbiotic components, no systemic absorption, natural origin. No restrictions.

The Evigrade extension adds an evidence panel to Wildberries, Goldapple, Letu, iHerb, Sephora and 12 more stores. This ingredient and every other one in the product show evidence-tier, allergen risk and pregnancy/lactation flags at a glance.
Saccharomyces Ferment Lysate is considered safe during pregnancy at typical cosmetic concentrations. Systemic absorption through the skin is minimal.
