A hydrating protein. Safe.
Whey protein (INCI Whey Protein) is a set of milk proteins. In a formula it hydrates and forms a softening film on the skin, common in moisturizers and conditioners. This is a surface-hydration and texture component, not a corrective active. It draws water and leaves skin softer to the touch but does not repair the barrier or work in depth. It does the job as support, without marked corrective effects. Applied topically it is not systemically relevant, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without issue. Tolerability is good. Irritation and allergy potential are both low, suitable for sensitive skin. If you have a known milk protein allergy, it is worth checking the formula before use. There is no data on relevant comedogenicity.
