Mechanism
No clinically significant direct interaction. Oral calcium does not affect amlodipine: vascular smooth muscle calcium channel blockade is intracellular and is not overcome by exogenous calcium.

The combination usually causes no specific symptoms. Each drug's individual side effects remain.
Management
No dose adjustment needed. In patients with hypertension and osteoporosis, the combination is standard.
