BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
An antioxidant flavonoid. Safe.
Chrysin is a plant flavonoid with antioxidant activity. Its INCI matches the name. In cosmetics it mostly goes into eye-area and soothing formulas, where it is linked to neutralizing free radicals and easing the tone of pigment-related under-eye circles. On efficacy caution is warranted: flavonoid antioxidant activity is real in the lab, but clinical evidence for chrysin on human skin is modest. The fair view is a supporting component within a well-built formula, not the single ingredient that erases dark circles. It adds value without promising a dramatic change. Topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy, compatible with the delicate eye-area skin. There is no evidence of meaningful comedogenicity.
