Cistus incanus extract (INCI: Cistus Incanus Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract) comes from a Mediterranean shrub rich in polyphenols and flavonoids. In formulas it offers a soothing and antioxidant action, useful in serums and creams aimed at reactive skin or skin under environmental stress. As an active it is a supporting component with some basis: cistus polyphenols show antioxidant activity in vitro, which backs its role as a complement to free-radical defense. Even so, it does not replace anti-aging actives with stronger evidence. Applied topically it has no meaningful systemic absorption, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
