A soothing plant compound. Safe.
Darutoside (INCI Darutoside) is a plant compound isolated from Siegesbeckia. In cosmetics it is used as a soothing ingredient and skin-recovery support, common in formulas for sensitive skin and for the post-procedure period. On efficacy this is a supportive active with a soothing direction. It helps reduce the feeling of discomfort and accompanies barrier recovery, though its evidence base is limited and more modest than that of classic soothers. Do not promise an anti-aging effect from it. Topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is high: low irritation and allergy potential, suitable for reactive skin and for skin sensitized after treatments. No relevant comedogenic profile.
