A soothing plant extract. Safe.
Mimosa tenuiflora bark extract (INCI: Mimosa Tenuiflora Bark Extract) is a plant extract carrying tannins and other polyphenols. In a formula it is used as a soothing agent and as support for barrier recovery. On efficacy, it is a supporting component. The traditional use of this bark on damaged skin makes some sense given its astringent and antioxidant compounds, but independent clinical data are limited. Expect a softening effect rather than marked repair. Applied topically it has no systemic impact, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy potential. It does not clog pores and suits sensitive skin.
