Decylene Glycol is a multifunctional glycol. Its INCI matches the name. In a formula it gives light hydration and, above all, boosts preservative action: it improves microbiological stability and lets a formula lean on a smaller dose of classic preservatives. It also helps texture and solubilization. It is a functional support component, not a treatment active. It corrects neither wrinkles nor dark spots: its main role is preservation-boosting and light conditioning. It does that job well and appears often in formulas built on gentle preservative systems. Topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy, compatible with sensitive skin. There is no evidence of meaningful comedogenicity at usual use levels.
