Diethylhexyl Carbonate is a light emollient ester, listed in INCI under the same name. It gives a dry slip and absorbs quickly, leaving no greasy feel. That is why it is very common in sunscreens and light facial fluids. This is a functional texture component, not a skincare active. It improves how the product spreads and feels and helps distribute sun filters, but it does not act on wrinkles or pigmentation through its own mechanism. It fills that role well. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy potential. Its comedogenicity is minimal at level 1, so acne-prone skin usually handles it fine.
