Hydrogenated Glyceryl Palmate (INCI same) is an emollient and emulsion stabilizer made from palm fatty acids. It softens skin and helps keep a cream bodied and stable. It appears in moisturizing creams and emulsions. On efficacy: this is a functional texture and emollient ingredient, not a treatment active. It gives a soft feel and consistency to the formula, and it does that well, but do not expect corrective action from it. It is topical, with no meaningful systemic absorption. It can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: low irritation and allergy potential, suitable for sensitive skin. Comedogenicity is very low (level 1), so for most oily skin it is not a problem, though very acne-prone skin may watch its response to rich formulas containing it.
