Hydrogenated palm glycerides (INCI: Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides) come from palm oil fats, saturated by hydrogenation to make them more stable and solid. They act both as an emollient and a co-emulsifier: softening skin, stabilizing the cream and giving a dense, consistent texture. It is a functional component, not a treatment active. It gives the formula structure, body and a rich feel, but offers no biological effect of its own on skin. Its value lies in the product's sensory quality and stability. Topically its systemic absorption is negligible, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is high: low irritation potential and low allergy risk, fine for sensitive skin. Comedogenicity is low (1), though on very oily or acne-prone skin the dense textures it helps create can feel a little heavy.
