A functional plant emollient. Safe.
Hydrogenated Soybean Oil is soybean oil that has undergone hydrogenation, which makes it firmer and more stable. In creams, sticks and balms it softens the skin and gives a dense, cushioning texture while improving product consistency. It works as an emollient and texture agent. It conditions the surface and leaves skin softer, but it is not an active that acts on wrinkles, pigmentation or renewal. For topical use it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: irritation and allergy are low. Its comedogenicity is moderate-low (2 out of 5), so oily or acne-prone skin should watch it in very rich formulas, while dry skin usually tolerates it well.
