Dilinoleic Acid/Butanediol Copolymer is a polymeric emollient made from dilinoleic acid and butanediol. In the formula it forms a soft, flexible film on the skin that adds slip, seals in moisture and improves the feel. This is a functional texture and light-occlusion ingredient. It improves the finish and helps retain water, but it is not a treatment active: it does not act on wrinkles or tone on its own. In topical use it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Irritation and allergy potential are low, so it suits sensitive skin. Its comedogenicity is very low (level 1), so it is generally comfortable even for combination skin. Most people tolerate it without discomfort, and it leaves a silky feel without heaviness.
