Hydrogenated Poly(C6-20 Olefin) (INCI same) is a synthetic polymeric emollient. It provides slip, a light film and wear resistance for the product. It is used in creams, makeup and sunscreens to improve feel and staying power. On efficacy: this is a functional texture and emollient ingredient, not a skincare active. It does not treat skin; its job is feel and film stability. In that role it works well and is a clean, stable alternative to more oxidation-prone oils. It is topical, with no meaningful systemic absorption. It can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is high: low irritation and allergy potential, suitable for sensitive skin. Comedogenicity is very low (level 1), so it rarely causes trouble on oily skin.
