Ethyl Ferulate is the ethyl ester of ferulic acid, a plant antioxidant. INCI: Ethyl Ferulate. In a formula it works as an antioxidant and stabilizer: it neutralizes free radicals, helps protect other formula components from oxidation, and supports photoprotection paired with vitamins C and E. The ester form is more stable and more fat-soluble than plain ferulic acid. It is a supporting antioxidant rather than a standalone lead active. Allergenicity. Ferulic derivatives are counted among components with a moderate sensitization potential, and a reaction is possible in some people. Pregnancy safety. Topical use is systemically negligible, with no evidence of harm. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation.
