Glyceryl Linoleate is an ester of glycerin and linoleic acid, an essential omega-6 fatty acid. INCI: Glyceryl Linoleate. In a formula it works as an emollient, co-emulsifier, and conditioning agent. The linoleic part is related to the lipids of the skin barrier. Linoleic acid matters for normal stratum-corneum function, and its deficiency is linked to dryness and clogged pores, so the component makes sense in products for dry and acne-prone skin. That said, the standalone clinical effect of glyceryl linoleate as an active is modest; its main role is functional. Pregnancy safety. Systemic absorption is low and there are no teratogenicity data of concern. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Tolerance.
