Tocopheryl Linoleate is a vitamin E ester bound to linoleic acid. In a formula it acts as an oil-soluble antioxidant and emollient: it supplies barrier-friendly lipids and slowly converts into active tocopherol on the skin, which stretches out its protection against oxidation. As an active it is a vitamin E derivative with reasonable evidence behind it. It slows oxidation of both the product lipids and the skin barrier, while the linoleic part helps dry, flaky skin. Do not expect dramatic anti-aging results from it alone – it works best as support inside a well-built formula. Topically there is little systemic absorption, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding with no known restriction. Tolerance is good: low irritation and allergy potential, suitable for sensitive skin. Comedogenicity is minimal, so it also fits oily or acne-prone routines.
