It leaves a silky feel and improves the sense of comfort and a well-protected surface. Phytosterols carry some barrier-support logic, but the effect here is supportive rather than transformative. In topical use it poses no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without trouble.
