Saturated wax from rapeseed oil. Structures texture and substitutes mineral wax or paraffin in clean formulas. Low allergenicity, non-comedogenic. No standalone skincare effect – purely functional. Pregnancy-safe.
Topical application
BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
Functional plant-based wax. CIR confirmed safety. No standalone skincare action – it is a structurant and paraffin substitute in clean formulas.
Hydrogenated Rapeseed Oil is produced by fully hydrogenating rapeseed (canola) oil – all double bonds are saturated. The result is a wax-like solid with a melting point around 60-65°C, chemically stable against oxidation. INCI: Hydrogenated Rapeseed Oil. In formulas it works as a structurant: it increases cream density and stabilizes sticks (deodorants, lipsticks, balms) under temperature variation. It substitutes mineral wax, paraffin, and beeswax in products positioned as plant-based or vegan. Use levels are 1-15%. Pregnancy safety. Topical use is safe. Systemic absorption is absent – the molecule is too large to cross the stratum corneum. CIR rated hydrogenated vegetable oils as safe. Skin tolerance. Low irritation and allergen profile. Non-comedogenic. Suitable for sensitive skin. After hydrogenation, the original risk of oxidative instability and the irritation it can cause is gone. No standalone active effects. This is a structuring wax without penetrating activity. If a rapeseed component appears just after AQUA or among the first five INCI, expect a dense, occlusive texture suitable for dry skin in winter. Unlike unmodified liquid rapeseed oil, the hydrogenated form does not leave a film and does not oxidize in the jar – products keep their original scent and color longer.

The Evigrade extension adds an evidence panel to Wildberries, Goldapple, Letu, iHerb, Sephora and 12 more stores. This ingredient and every other one in the product show evidence-tier, allergen risk and pregnancy/lactation flags at a glance.
Hydrogenated Rapeseed Oil is considered safe during pregnancy at typical cosmetic concentrations. Systemic absorption through the skin is minimal.
Hydrogenated Rapeseed Oil suits: normal, dry, combination, sensitive.
Saturated wax from rapeseed oil.
On the Fulton scale 0/5 – non-comedogenic. For acne-prone skin, a rating of 3 or higher suggests choosing an alternative.
The INCI name is Hydrogenated Rapeseed Oil. It may also appear as: Hydrogenated Canola Oil, Гидрогенизированное рапсовое масло.
