In cosmetics it works as a fine powder that adds opacity, mattifies the skin and gives a soft finish to creams, foundations and powder products. On efficacy, this is a functional, texture ingredient, not a skincare active. It improves how a formula looks and soaks up some shine, but it does not treat wrinkles, pigmentation or acne. Read it that way on a label: it has a technical job. Applied topically the mineral is not meaningfully absorbed, so it is fine to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good.
