Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin is a derivative of cyclodextrin, a ring sugar with a cavity inside the molecule. INCI: Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin. In a formula it works as a stabilizer and carrier: it captures other substances in its cavity, raises their solubility and stability, masks odors, and helps controlled release of actives. It is a functional helper component, not a skincare active. On its own it has no action on skin, but it improves how other ingredients in the formula work. Pregnancy safety. It barely penetrates skin, is systemically negligible, and there is no evidence of harm. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Tolerance.
