A nourishing plant extract. Safe.
Rice germ extract (INCI Oryza Sativa Germ Extract) comes from the grain embryo and brings lipids, E-group vitamins and antioxidant compounds. In formulas it acts as a nourishing ingredient and barrier support with a softening finish. On efficacy this is a supporting extract. It adds comfort and a feeling of more flexible skin, and its antioxidant content backs the formula, but it is not an active with proven corrective effect on wrinkles or pigmentation. The evidence base is modest. Topically it has no systemic impact, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is high: low irritation and allergy potential, suitable for sensitive and dry skin. No worrying comedogenic profile at use concentrations.
