A toning plant water. Safe.
Prunus Mume Fruit Water is the fruit water of the Japanese apricot, or ume. It contains organic acids and water-soluble compounds, and in formulas it works as an aqueous base with a light toning effect. It appears in toners, essences and mists aimed at freshness and comfort. On efficacy it pays to keep expectations modest. As a fruit water it is mainly an aqueous vehicle with a modest contribution of acids and antioxidants. It is a supporting and sensory component, not an active with a proven skin-transforming effect. Its role is to improve the formula base and add freshness. For topical use in pregnancy and breastfeeding there are no risk signals. Systemic absorption from skin is minimal, so it can be used in these stages. Tolerance is good. Low irritation and low allergy potential, suitable for sensitive skin. Most people see no reactions; very reactive skin can keep an eye on formulas with acids at high concentration.
